If there is any other news everyone wants to hear at the moment, it’s about the availability of vaccines for the treatment of COVID-19. Many have taken advantage of the little information available in confusing others and making their dishonest gain from this virus.
Hence, we will be discussing shortly the available information about the COVID-19 vaccine and what you are expected to do in the meantime.
Is the Vaccine Available Yet?
The simple answer is No.
As of today, there is no vaccine available yet for the treatment of coronavirus. There is no antiviral medication that can combat the virus in any medical store or hospital.
But those who are infected can have their condition managed and treated at the hospital in order to regain their once good health. Even severe cases can be treated, and infected ones can recover well.
Good enough, there are hopes of finding positive vaccines for the treatment of COVID-19 soon. Some medications are currently under investigation and presently going through clinical trials. When these vaccines are successfully available, it will help in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
A few days ago, a new vaccine was given the green light for testing on humans. While the result is not yet out, we can expect that this vaccine will be the one that will help bring an end to this virus.
What should you avoid?
As stated earlier, many are parading local herbs, vaccines, and medicines claiming they have been used by an infected person, and that such people have recovered. While these claims are baseless, you should desist from subscribing for such products that have not been medically tested and accepted for the treatment of COVID-19.
Sticking to such products will not only hurt you physically, but it can also affect your emotional and mental state.
Immediately a vaccine is available; you can be sure that enough and sufficient information will be provided by the health expert in each country on how to get themselves one.
We all don’t want to be infected, but if you notice changes in your health condition, quickly self-isolate, and report to the appropriate agency. This will prevent you from infecting others and help flatten the curve.
Best Practice for Now
For now, the best way to prevent yourself from contracting this virus is to do the following:
- Clean your hands regularly through careful and proper Handwashing with soap and running water.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, especially when you are outside.
- Always wear a Face mask when you are outdoors.
- Cough and sneeze in your elbow, or inside tissue paper. Endeavor to discard the tissue paper immediately you cough inside.
- Wash your hands after coughing or sneezing.
- Wash your hand after coming in contact with people or touching exposed surfaces.
- Social distancing. Give 3 to 6 feet (1.83 m) from others.
- Don’t touch your mask after wearing it.
With the following measures, you can protect yourself from getting infected with Covid-19 or other infectious diseases that are killing millions of humans every day.
